Fibrous Fantasies 🌾 Do you guys #eat enough fibre 🤔 I mean do you actually KNOW how much you’re having per day 😳.

Earlier this week @jessicaskitchen_gf realised that she was actually eating WAY under the recommended daily intake but she was a little stuck as to how to boost this without aggravating her digestion (something SO MANY people will struggle with 🙈).
.
So we got chatting, I whacked on my thinking cap 🎓 & gave her a few ideas to try, a few of which I’ve scribbled below for the rest of you too👇🏻.

🥕FRUIT & VEG – all your leafy lovelies, the skins of everything, go BIG on these guys 🙌🏻 BUT if you have that digestively iffy tendency then try blending them into pesto, sauces or smoothies, &/or go gently on raw (e.g. roast your veggies to dip in hummus) so your body has less work to do👌🏻.
🌰NUTS & SEEDS – these guys are great, get into the habit of sprinkling them on EVERYTHING, make #chiapudding for #breakfast or as a FAB #healthysnack , try out my super seed cracker #recipe & opt for baked goods containing them.
🍚WHOLE GRAINS – hold on to those husks!! Termed roughage for good reason the casings on brown/black/red rice, spelt, quinoa, whole wheat products etc, that’s your fibre (& your FLAVOUR!) so go colourful or go home.
❤️PULSES & BEANS – the 1 people struggle with the most ALWAYS! Try soaking them before using, make dips that are 1/2 your chosen bean + baked root veggie flesh to ease into it & add apple cider vinegar to help.

Now a couple of caveats to wrap 👉🏻 if you have ongoing issues with bloating & adding fibre WORSENS this you may need some help balancing out your intestinal bacteria, sorting out stomach acid levels &/or the integrity of your intestinal lining ✨ Basically if it doesn’t feel right DON’T just push through ASK SOMEONE 💛.

2nd if you aren’t used to fibre the above may happen in the short term, the transition however can be greatly eased with the use of digestive enzymes alongside meals 👏🏻.
.
And FINALLY fibre is NO GOOD without fluids so HYDRATE like a mother f*cker when you add all those wonderful things into your days 😂.
