Moon Milk

Moon Milk 🌙 Seated in history as the classic sleep inducing beverage 😴 warm milk is something I’ve been turning to in the evening for moons in the multiples prior to the coining of this alliterative term ✨.

Now there are 2 parts to this story 👉🏻 for those who may feel a little jangly before bed or a little peckish after dinner including something cosy in a cup offers a soothing & satisfying solution ☺️ But that could be a herbal tea or hot water with lemon so what makes MILK the special choice 🤔.

Well of course it’s the specific nutrients in there & how they interact with our body to promote rest ISN’T IT 🤗.

When I say milk now I am referring both to #organic dairy & this foamy #dairyfree delight I have in my hand 💫 Both contain tryptophan (the #oats in my #vegan version & the whey component of regular milk being your sources) which through the addition of magnesium & zinc (your cashews/already present in dairy) gets converted to melatonin which MAKES YOU FEEL SLEEPY ☺️.

I’ve also added some extra treats including Ceylon cinnamon, carob & the adaptogens reishi & tulsi to promote those optimal feelings of calm because this whole summer holiday thing don’t seem to be happening at my end just yet…..🤪.

{CAROB & CINNAMON MOON MILK}.
2 tbsp jumbo oats.
1 tbsp cashews.
1 tsp carob powder.
1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon.
1/4 tsp each reishi & tulsi powder.
1 scoop @planetpaleo marine collagen (optional).

Add the cashews to a bowl/cup, pour over boiling water & leave for 10 mins. Drain, rinse & pop into a blender with the oats, add 1 cup of boiling water & leave for 5 mins.
Add the rest of your ingredients & blend until smooth then heat in a pan until lovely & warm.
Serve topped with extra cinnamon.
